Além dos nomeados, foram divulgados os critérios para eleger os vencedores de cada categoria do MAMA Awards, que seguem as seguintes regras:

• Artist of the Year and Artist Category Awards (Prêmios de Artista do Ano e Categoria de Artista) — 20% de avaliação do painel de jurados, 40% de downloads/streaming de músicas (25% da Coreia + 15% global), 40% de vendas de álbuns físicos
• Song of the Year and Genre Category Awards (Prêmios de Canção do Ano e Categoria de Gênero) — 20% de avaliação do painel de jurados, 80% de downloads/streaming de músicas (50% da Coreia + 30% global)
• Album of the Year (Álbum do Ano) — 20% de avaliação do painel de jurados, 80% de vendas de álbuns físicos
• Worldwide Icon of the Year and Worldwide Fans’ Choice (Ícone Mundial do Ano e Escolha dos Fãs Mundiais) — 70% de votos Mnet Plus, 30% de votos Spotify
• Best Music Video (Melhor videoclipe) — 20% de avaliação do painel de jurados, 80% de videoclipe

Vale lembrar que, os artistas que concorrem aos prêmios na cerimônia este ano promoveram novas faixas entre 22 de outubro de 2022 e 30 de setembro de 2023.

Além disso, a categoria Worldwide Fans' Choice (Escolha dos fãs em todo o mundo) contará com uma pré-votação que termina em 30 de outubro e escolherá 20 artistas que deverão participar da votação final, que terá 14 dias de votação, com início marcado para 6 de novembro e fim em 20 de novembro.
